Preschool Programs – Age-Appropriate Early Learning for 3, 4, and 5 Year Olds
Early childhood is a time of rapid growth, discovery, and development. During these formative preschool years, children begin developing their unique personalities and a growing sense of independence. Most children this age have developed enough vocabulary to clearly communicate their wants and needs, making it an ideal time for structured early learning.
3 Year Old Preschool Class
Our 3-year-old preschool program builds on foundational skills developed during the toddler years, introducing more structured early education concepts, including:
Shapes and colors
Letter recognition
Days of the week and months of the year
Circle time and extended attention span for group lessons
Story time and early literacy through listening to books
In addition to academic readiness, our 3-year-old classroom focuses on independence and self-help skills. Children in this class are expected to:
Use the bathroom with minimal assistance
Brush their teeth independently
Put on their own jackets and shoes
Our goal is to help each child build self-reliance and confidence, especially when preparing for outdoor time with minimal adult support. Parents are often amazed at how capable young children become when given the opportunity to practice independence in a supportive, encouraging environment.
4 and 5 Year Old Preschool Class (Pre-K)
Our 4 and 5-year-old preschool class, often referred to as our Pre-K program, is where foundational skills come together in exciting ways. This is a pivotal stage of kindergarten readiness, where children continue building on early learning while developing more advanced academic and life skills.
In this classroom, children practice:
Writing their first and last names
Spelling their names
Learning important personal information (name, age, family details, etc.)
Advancing letter, shape, color, and early word-building skills
Taking on classroom helper roles and responsibilities
Just as in our 3-year-old class, children in this group are expected to demonstrate full independence in:
Using the bathroom without assistance
Brushing their teeth
Putting on jackets and shoes unaided
We place strong emphasis on early literacy and reading readiness. Many children begin their first steps into reading through our BOB Books® program, a proven method for building early reading confidence and skill.
